Who to notify after someone dies

We know that when someone dies it can be difficult to remember all the people who might need to be notified.

Advising Centrelink, cancelling appointments with specialists, library items and domiciliary aids should be returned as soon as possible to avoid fees and charges.

In most cases, you will need to provide a copy of the certified death certificate.

The list below is a guide of some people and organisations you may need to contact after someone dies. Please don’t be overwhelmed by the list as not everyone on the list will need to be contacted immediately, or may not be relevant to the person who has died.
